VERA VOZ Y COMPANIA
9:00 PM
A bar is usually the place
to catch up with friends on the latest news and gossip,
but idle chatter becomes second priority when Vero Voz &
Company is onstage. Traditional styles such as jazz, big
band, and rhythm and blues fuse elegantly with salsa,
merengue, and bossa nova, all highlighted by Veronica's
commanding five-octave voice. Citing musical influences
such as Barbara Streisand, Billie Holliday, and Sarah
Vaughn and together with talented pianist and producer
Juan Angel Rodriguez, Veronica continues to blaze a
musical path to stardom and performs Tuesday evenings at
Alexandre's at 9:30 pm.

LES FARRINGTON
9:00 pm - Alternating
Wednesdays
With
schizophrenic musical influences such as Scissor
Sisters, Marylin Manson, Nine Inch Nails and George
Gershwin in his musical bag, it's impossible to predict
what you’re going to hear next at one of Les
Farrington’s shows. Dallas' own Farrington
springs from a family of musicians, and his love of
music goes back to his childhood. In high school,
Farrington remembers listening to the likes of punk
bands like the Sex Pistols and New Wave artists like
Devo and the Cars before they were considered cool. In
1998, Farrington became the front man for local band
Sugarbomb, and the band’s retro-punk sound and bawdy
onstage antics attained the attention of RCA records,
culminating in the CD release ‘Bully’. Now a soloist,
Farrington still finds time to work on commercial and
collaborative projects in his home studio and performs
at Alexandre’s every other Wednesday night. FDA! |
